Kareta was inspired by the Caretta-Caretta sea turtle, which belongs to the family of Loggerhead sea turtles and nests in the island of Zakynthos (Zante) in Greece. Caretta-Caretta is an endangered species, covered by various international agreements and protected directly by the Greek Government. Caretta Caretta sea turtles are truly magnificent creatures; their struggle begins from day one, when they break out of their eggs and their nest.
Their passage to the ocean is hazardous, with numerous predators hiding in every corner, i.e. sea birds, rats, stray dogs, weasels and badgers. It is estimated that only 1 to 2 baby turtles out of a 1,000 make it to adulthood. Caretta Caretta turtles swim thousands of miles, and while they can end up pretty much anywhere in the world, they always return to the same beach in Zakynthos to nest. Scientists believe that the turtles must be equipped with some sort of navigation system that helps them find home.
This turtle much describes businesses; Day one starts with an idea, a goal that will take time to materialise, that is if not the various "predators" get in the way. Our aim is to cradle you along the way and ensure that your passage to success is protected.
